As it’s Valentine’s night, it feels appropriate to re-blog this poem about my ‘love at first sight’ experience which regardless of family opposition (probably the look on my mum’s face says it all… haha)… but here we are regardless of the ups and down’s of life and our love for each other is going strong. My hubby – the wind beneath my wings….
8 ways to help develop enduring love… Love over 4 decades – how did we do it?.. and check out my 1980’s Princess Diana inspired wedding outfit… True vintage – wish I’d kept it!
Aww lovely belated happy valentines

Can you see my mum’s face… ‘unimpressed’… They’d said they wouldn’t come to the wedding .. and they didn’t but they did turn up outside the registry office in the end… Life! x

Yep – the funny thing was my mum went to both my sister’s weddings….. and both ended up divorced – twice! I suspect it was my stubborn streak that was determined to prove mum wrong in those early days that saw us through a few of the ‘low’ moments! haha xx

I can totally relate to several things here:
1) the long-lasting love
2) the Diana period (my hairdo for our wedding, ha!)
3) the doubtful family… I was marrying a foreigner they only got to meet two months before!
I love your poem. 🙂

Thanks so much Joelle.. how funny we were with those Princess Diana frills and haircuts! I have to laugh at the disapproving look on my mum’s face.. she got over it and loved hubby to bits in the end.. it took her a couple of years to come round.. xx
