60 Second Facelift or Miracle Snore Cure?

Ok so I’ve been using the – 60 second face lift from Aldi.. for several weeks now and to be honest, it’s difficult to say how much of a difference it’s made to my face because I’ve been losing weight at the same time.

I was worried that being ‘older’ and losing weight may show as extra ‘sagginess’ on my face and neck and so far so good – it hasn’t! How much that is down to the face lift gadget though is difficult for me to say for sure.

What I can tell you though is that I think it has really helped my SNORING!!! Yes – as much as I’m horrified to admit it, I think I was the Worlds Loudest Snorer – it woke me up on numerous occasions let alone my poor long suffering husband….. (I know what you’re thinking – ‘Ladies don’t snore’ – well I’m clearly and very loudly the exception to the rule!)

less ladylike: (Image from Pinterest – Polyvore.com)

Over the years I’ve tried numerous things (unsuccessfully) to try and stop snoring – sprays and gadgets etc. The best one is probably the ‘snore guard’ which I take with me if I’m staying in a hotel so I don’t get evicted – It does help to quieten the sound, but by morning, my teeth feel like they are going to fall out! (yes you’re right – not a good look – especially for a post under the ‘fashion and beauty’ category)

Well, just 1 week after using the ‘face-lift gadget’ on my neck, bizarrely my snoring seemed to disappear – so much so that one night my husband had to check I was still alive I was sleeping so quietly!

The cynics among you may believe this is because I’ve lost over a stone in weight (yee haa!!) however, the ‘snore cure’ occurred before I’d lost any weight.

So there you have it – I think this gadget may be helping my facial muscles but I’m now wondering if I’ve also discovered a miracle cure for snoring . I‘m going to test out my philosophy by not using it for a couple of weeks to see if the snoring returns. I’ll keep you posted.

Regardless though –  I’m definitely going to try and film a video of myself using this gadget as it is pretty hilarious… Coming soon –  if I’m brave enough to post it (oh and clever enough to work out how to make a video!)

And NO – I’m not going to be posting any video of me in full ‘snore mode’ – that’s a step too far, although it would probably go viral!….

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this potential ‘miracle snore cure’ – Please leave me a comment..

Post Update:

I’ve been asked to add details of the ‘gadget’ so here is my reply to a comment with links etc.

  1. I am looking forward to seeing the video!

Face lift and snore cure…bargain!! And well done on the weight loss front too. I will be interested to see how you continue to get on with this on both fronts.

On a side note, it is my man who snores in these parts and when I say snore I mean the windows rattle and distant dogs howl. I went to the aromatherapy cupboard for this and we tried marjoram. This worked well to start with but lost its edge after a while so then we went on to a stronger formula which seems to work very nicely. My fingers are crossed but I still have a thick pillow nearby in case of emergencies 😉

    1. Oh yes! – I’d like to say I was a ‘ladylike’ snorer – sadly I’m not – I snore(d) like an elephant and can’t even deny it…. windows rattle and dogs howling – yep sounds familiar and I’ve had plenty of bruised ribs over the years to prove it..
I’ll let you know how I go on and see if I can master the art of videoing myself (not snoring…). I’m so chuffed with the weightloss – 1 stone down and 2 more to go although I’m keeping an eye on the ‘loose bits’ before I decide exactly how much!!! If my ‘test’ works then if the Marjoram formula fails you’ve got a ‘back up’ plan…. x

        1. Wow – amazing – thanks so much! Yes I’ve got a Twitter Account but have never really used it – it’s something I need to start so tweeting it for me will be my first step along the ‘twittering’ path! Wendy Hodgson@WendyRHodgson1…

          1. Lovely, thanks. If you do decide to do Twitter more regularly you can put your Twitter name in the Sharing >Sharing Buttons section of your WordPress desktop. It is right at the bottom of that section. This will mean when somebody shares your blog post on Twitter your Twitter name will be put in place of ‘via wordpress.com’ and will encourage viewing and traffic to your Twitter account and therefore your blog (if you pop link in the appropriate space on Twitter profile). You may know all this already, of course 🙂

          2. Thanks – that’s really helpful. I’m holding off on adding the social media buttons to my blog at the moment (for reasons I’ll explain down the line… ). When I do though – this info is really useful and I wasn’t sure how to do it so that’s brilliant. Very much appreciated xx Have a fab weekend! x

    1. Thanks Andy I appreciate that… hey you get to 55 and realise that ‘ladies do snore’ (well actually for me it was get to 35… – my hubby really must love me!) so anything I can do to provide some ‘light relief’ to the poor suffering partners of us snorers can’t be left unspoken!!
The ‘gadget’ is the Rio Lift Plus 60 second facelift – http://www.riobeauty.co.uk/face-and-neck/facial-toning/facial-toners/60-second-face-lift-plus.html
I emailed the company yesterday to let them know they may have a ‘snore cure’ and they’ve added my post to their facebook page and are interested to hear if anyone else has shared my experience so if you do try it, let them (and me) know how you go on.
The gadget comes up on the web at various prices from £79 – £129 from what I’ve seen but I purchased it from a store we have in the UK called Aldi and it was on special offer at only £49.99 – probably the best £50 I’ve spent for a long time!
I’ll let you know how the test goes – I was definitely snoring last night again having not used it for about a week now as I woke myself up!
I’ve got a picture of you trying to explain this one away at the customs desk!! – hilarious…. Video to follow – hahaha!!

      1. Well at least you dont also grind your teeth at the same time. My mate Martin does and the combination is excruciating. My missus just told me that I dont snore that often these days. I assumed I was really loud every night. I reckon it was my diet back in the UK; all bread, sausages, chips and beer

  3. If you would have been a lad there would have been an easy remedy: lay him on his back spreading his legs so the testicles would drop down, subsequently blocking the draft up his wind pipe. LMAO 😂

  4. Congratulations on the weight loss, that’s fabulous!! Hey you’re not the only one who has woken themself up due to snoring…yup yours truly has too!! If you find that this continues to cure your snoring, you may want to let the company know. That’s quite interesting. Look forward to your YouTube video. 😊

    1. Thanks so much Deb – I appreciate it – 1 stone down 2 more to go!! Thanks for admitting the ‘wake up due to snoring’ – Hillarious – I’m glad I’m not the only ‘female’ snorer – two’s company…. Update on the miracle snore cure: I’ve not been using the gadget for a couple of weeks and my snoring seems to be returning. I’m going to wait until next week and start using it again and see if it stops again. I sent an email to the company a couple of days ago to let them know and they are really interested to hear the results of my test – they’ve posted my post on their facebook page – Rio Beauty.
I’ve not done any videos before so I’m ‘practicing’ – not very successfully – haha – watch this space..

Thanks so much for following my blog and I’m looking forward to perusing yours now… Much appreciated x

      1. That practice may come in handy for Rio Beauty if it does reduce the snoring again they may want you to do a commercial for them! 😉 Good luck with the next two stones and I look forward to visiting more of your site. 😊

        1. Now that would be funny – providing they don’t need to have a video of me actually snoring – not a good look! Thanks for the encouragement on weight loss – it’s definitely easier to put on than to take off! I hope you enjoy more of my posts.. much appreciated x

          1. Oh you might have to have a snoring shot…after all they would want to show before and after…lol!! Yes I know about losing weight, I started working out a few years ago and lost 35 lbs, not sure how many stones that is, then last winter it was soooo cold I stopped getting up early to work out AND started to eat ice cream at night. Well between the two I gained back 25 lbs. yikes!! Just starting to cut back on the ice cream and starting to work out again!! Yes I’m sure I will enjoy more of your posts, I’ll be popping over. 🙂 xo

Wow – impressive weight loss – 2.5 Stone and if you did it once you can do it again. I’m still building myself up to the exercise… I look forward to a ‘chat over coffee’ when you pop over again and vice versa – I’ll be popping over to you too. (Love that idea..) See you soon xx

          3. LOL!! Love the visual…but it’s accurate and real life! You never know…
Ya I’m not up for that aggressive of a workout that’s why I’ve decided on Yoga…but I so love sleeping in that extra half hour that I haven’t been able to maintain the getting up early. I started a couple of weeks ago and was doing pretty good, then one morning I fell, not related to Yoga, I had stubbed my baby toe and somehow was hurled into the air and landed on my right side, bruising my right ankle. So I had a sore left baby toe and right ankle which derailed me from exercising for a week…and now I just have restarted yet…UGH! Ok I’ve popping over tonight…see you soon!! 🙂 xo

          4. Sorry – shouldn’t smile but can’t help it! Now I have an image of you ‘hurling through the air’! – I definitely think it’s safer to stick to the extra half hour in bed so I’m impressed that you’ve ‘restarted’ – well done!
Thanks so much for popping across tonight! x

          5. Oh no you misunderstood…I haven’t quite restarted yet…that’s the problem and now you make such a salient point about being safer in bed that you have just helped me with one more reason why I should sleep in!! HA!! Thank you so much…hee hee…
            You’re snoring, I’m hurling..what a pair. xo

          6. hahaha – Great – I feel better that I’m not motivated to exercise myself yet – and I won’t feel so guilty for that extra 30 minutes tomorrow morning now!!! Much appreciated – I can snore to my hearts content and dream about your ‘hurtling’… xx

          7. No matter what life throws at us, if we can keep a sense of humour and be able to laugh at ourselves, everything feels that little bit better… Not sure that dream is a good idea – it’s more like a NIGHTMARE! xx

  6. Now that’s weird ! Here at home we both used to snore, especially my better half 🙄. All disappeared after we changed our diet; dairy seemed to trigger it. And I stopped kicking in my sleep when I started eating gluten free. Gosh, what exciting nights we used to have 😆!
A possible explanation concerning Aldi’s gadget: could it have anything to do with moving muscles around? Just wondering… Anyway, it sounds like an easy cure.
Have a good week, Wendy! 🙂

    1. Hi Joelle – I’m glad you found your own cures to the snoring issue – phew! I think you’re right, it does seem to be the tightening of the throat muscles I think. I stopped using it and the snoring came back as I had wondered whether it was my ‘healthier eating’ that had made the difference but this wasn’t the case for me.. I’ve started using the gadget again for the last couple of weeks and my snoring has definitely improved.. Much to my husband’s relief…hehe! I hope you have a brilliant week too! xx
