Springtime – What can we learn?
In the UK it feels finally like spring has arrived – the sun is shining, the sky is blue and the blossom is in full bloom. My garden is only small and needs some tender loving care now that Spring has arrived as the weeds are growing rapidly.
However, within that small space is an abundance of natural beauty and wandering around my garden yesterday, I couldn’t resist taking this photo of my Lily of the Valley which has truly revealed it’s full glory this Spring.
During the winter months, the dark green foliage shows no hint of the beauty that is revealed when spring arrives and it got me to thinking…..
How many of us hide our ‘glory’ away and never show the world our true colours? We retain our ‘winter clothing’ throughout our lives – hiding beneath the woolly jumpers, wrapping ourselves up within the dark Evergreen’ foliage and then getting strangled by the weeds because we’ve failed to give some tender loving care to ourselves and those we share our garden with…
Buried within the depth of our exterior foliage, we have thoughts and feelings that we fail to share… We have creative talents that we feel embarrassed to reveal… We wallow in ‘Winter discontent’ and see only the winter gloom… We fail to ‘weed out’ those negative influences in our lives – people and jobs that drag us down etc.
If all of us who hide away beneath the dark green foliage took a ‘leaf’ out of the Lily of the Valley plant, how much more beauty would there be in the world?
Be like my Lily of the Valley this Springtime:
- Cast off dark winter foliage and the reveal glorious colour by focussing on what’s good in yourself and the world around you rather than the ‘winter’s doom and gloom’ …
- Let your inner beauty shine out – refreshed like a shiny new leaf changing direction to feel the warm rays of the sun – Notice the inner stirrings within you and Act upon your intuition and DO what makes you feel good.
- Grow strong and healthy rising above the weeds that try to drag you down and strangle your beauty and instead allow the suns energy to help you truly blossom – that way we can all share and be inspired by your talent and creativity….
- Reveal your full glory to the World so that we can enjoy seeing the ‘whole you’ – be brave and honest when you communicate your message and dare to reveal your beautiful new springtime foliage and blossom!
Be inspired by nature and shine like my ‘Silver Flaming Glory’ to show your beautiful blossom in full bloom. Reveal your ‘Brilliance Within’ for all the world to see….
What a beautiful world we live in!
Beautiful metaphors! Yes it takes courage, vulnerability and strength all put together to be whole you…the feeling of freedom is amazing though

Spring has always been my favorite season. I like all the others too, but Spring wears the crown. Your ‘Silver Flaming Glory’ must shine because it prompted you to write this lovely post. Thank you!

Me too – I love the spring sunshine too – that slight crispness in the breeze (although today it was just ‘hot’). Yes our Silver Flaming Glory is in Full Bloom and absolutely ‘Glorious’ – very inspiring… x

We had our fair share too! Very refreshing and lovely weather. Surprised we could move much after the lunchtime feast but we soldiered on 🙂

How one could learn so much from nature. I totally agree, we should let ourselves bloom and share more beauty in this world. 🙂

You’re right of course – We live in an amazing world and how much more of a beautiful place it would be if we let ourselves shine out from within… x

Not sure how to express how I’m feeling. I loved this post. I too love spring but the way you wrote it makes me look at it differently. Sometimes even in spring I allow the winter blahs to keep me from doing what needs to be done in spring. Shine.
